About Dressage Online

Schoolers Dressage Online is an online training and competition platform offering scored training tests and competition entries for riders of all levels.

Training Tests make quality dressage coaching accessible. Riders receive a full scored test plus an audio coaching walkthrough on video — not just a number, but genuine guidance on what to work on next. It doesn't need to be perfect, and riders are encouraged to try a level above if they feel ready.

By submitting an entry to Schoolers Dressage Online, you agree to these Rules and Terms and Conditions in full.

02

Entry Eligibility

Entries are open to dressage riders of all levels, ages, and nationalities. There is no requirement to hold any club, body, or organisational membership to enter.

Riders under the age of 16 must have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter.

Horses and ponies of any breed are welcome. There is no minimum or maximum height restriction.

Riders may enter at any level. You are not required to submit at your current or highest level. Multiple entries from the same rider — at different levels or on different horses — are permitted.

03

Training Tests
year-round.

The Training Tests programme is a private, non-competitive training series. A single Training Test entry includes a full scored test and an audio coaching walkthrough on video.

Training Tests are open year-round. There is no deadline. Submit when you and your horse are ready.

Training test results are private. Scores will not be published on any public leaderboard. There are no rosettes, prizes, or rankings during the Training Tests series.

Feedback will be returned within 7 working days of submission.

One training test is offered at each level (Levels 0–6). Riders may enter at any level — including levels above their current training stage. The Training Test is designed as a feedback and coaching tool.

Video Submission Requirements

All video submissions must comply with the following guidelines. Non-compliant videos may be returned for re-filming.

4.1 — Filming Guidelines

Film in landscape (horizontal) mode.

Film from the C marker end of your arena so the full arena is visible from start to finish. The entire arena boundary must be visible in frame at all times.

Film in good natural light. Do not film directly into the sun.

The full test must be visible from start (entry at A) to finish (final halt and salute).

You may film multiple attempts and submit only your best ride. Only one submission per entry is accepted. No mounting or dismounting is required to be shown in the video.

4.2 — Video Upload

Upload your video as a public or unlisted YouTube video. Paste the YouTube link into the entry form at the time of submission.

Do not submit a private YouTube video — private videos cannot be viewed by the judge.

Your video must remain accessible until after your scoresheet has been returned. Do not delete or make the video private before receiving your results.

4.3 — Video Quality

Video must be of sufficient quality for the judge to clearly see the horse and rider. Minimum resolution: 720p recommended.

If your video is rejected for quality reasons, you will be offered one re-submission within 5 days.

05

Equipment & Dress Code

Schoolers Dressage Online takes a relaxed and inclusive approach to equipment and dress. The focus is on the quality of riding and training, not on competition formality.

5.1 — Rider Dress

Competition dress (white breeches, jacket, stock tie, gloves) is not required. Comfortable, clean riding attire is perfectly acceptable.

Helmets must be worn at all times while mounted. Plaiting is not required.

5.2 — Saddlery & Equipment

Any style of saddle and bridle is welcome — English, western, baroque, bitless, treeless, and more. Bit choice is at the rider's discretion. Judges may offer observations on bitting as part of training notes where relevant.

All equipment must be safe and appropriate for horse and rider welfare.

5.3 — Arena

Standard dressage arena dimensions are recommended for accurate test execution: 20×40m or 20×60m. Arena size requirements or options will be detailed on each test.

The arena does not need to be formally marked — improvised markers are acceptable for training tests.

There is no requirement for an enclosed arena. Open paddocks, round yards, or any safe flat space are acceptable for training entries.

06

Judging & Feedback

6.1 — Standard of Judging

All tests are reviewed by a qualified dressage judge. Judging is conducted using a 0–10 scale consistent with established dressage standards. The judge's score is final on first review.

6.2 — Training Entry Feedback

Training Entry feedback includes a movement-by-movement scoresheet and an audio coaching walkthrough on video, with specific guidance on training priorities and what to work on next.

Feedback will be returned within 7 working days of submission. Scores from Training Entries are private and will not be published.

6.3 — Disputes & Re-Reviews

If you believe there has been a significant scoring error, you may request a re-review by emailing amanda@dressage-online.com within 7 days of receiving your scoresheet.

One re-review is available per rider per calendar year, free of charge. The judge's decision is final on second review.

07

Payments & Refunds

All entry fees are payable at the time of submission. No administration or membership fees apply. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Competition entry pricing will be confirmed when competitions launch and will be published on dressage-online.com.

Entry fees are non-refundable. By completing payment, you confirm that your video submission is ready to be judged and you accept that the sale is final. Because judging commences upon receipt of your entry, no refunds will be issued once payment has been processed.

If your submission cannot be judged due to a quality issue outside our minimum video requirements, we will contact you with the option to resubmit at no additional cost. If a video is rejected for quality reasons and you are unable to re-submit within the required window, a refund will be considered at the discretion of Schoolers Dressage Online.

08

Privacy & Data

Schoolers Dressage Online collects rider name, email address, and video link for the purpose of processing entries and returning results.

Your video link is shared only with the judge for the purpose of scoring. Training Entry results are private and will not be shared publicly.
