Our story.
Bill brings the eye, the experience and the horsemanship. Amanda looks after our digital realm and brings a student’s point of view. Together we’re reinventing online dressage: expert feedback from anywhere, progress you can see, and a reward every time you beat your best.
Bill Noble.
Olympic coach · Grand Prix trainer · Dressage judge
Bill has spent years with horses and riders internationally, and we’re lucky to have him here in New Zealand. He brings a rare combination: practical training to the highest level of the sport, and the eye of a judge.
Like anyone who has spent a lifetime at their craft, Bill could easily have settled into one way of doing things. Anyone who knows him will tell you the opposite. He is open minded, and connects genuinely with different ways of approaching horsemanship, dressage and innovation, joining the dots with one aim in mind: being better for our horses.
And he keeps it practical. His feedback is something you can take out to the arena tomorrow.
Fun fact: Bill started life as a physicist in the UK, before horses took over.
Amanda Penton.
Amanda is an amateur rider who has spent her working years in the design and digital world. Her riding interests are broad: dressage sits at the heart of it, but she’s equally drawn to other disciplines and to the patient, rewarding work of retraining. Her current partner in all of it is Forrest (NZ Warmblood).
An advocate of videoing rides, she regularly films her own training sessions to review afterwards (with a Pivo), picking up what isn’t always obvious from the saddle. It’s the next best thing when you don’t have arena mirrors. That’s the power of online dressage: a way of training that simply wasn’t possible a decade ago.
She’s also a regular at the gym, which is where the idea of the PR took hold. She knows what it’s like to ride at home, often on your own, doing the reps with no eyes on the ground. That rider is exactly who Schoolers is built for.
Blending gym culture with dressage, we bring you PRX™.
Weightlifting and dressage have more in common than you might think. Both are a personal journey. Both can be lonely, with long stretches of work that no one else sees. And both are built on small, incremental gains. In weightlifting, consistent reps, good form and patience add up, and bit by bit you start lifting more. The first time you lift a new weight, it’s called a PR (personal result), or personal best.
Solidifying the fundamentals of dressage works the same way. Progress comes one ride at a time, and it deserves to be recognised when it happens. This is the spirit of Schoolers PRX™: Personal Result Dressage.
What is PRX™?Is progress a straight line?
Rarely. It’s easy to get discouraged by the ups and downs of learning, the world of horses, of the whole journey. Tracking your progress the way we do in PRX helps keep you motivated, borrowing something already commonplace in the fitness world: a way to quantify progress and celebrate the magic.
